Below is a list of some of my favorites things:

Books
: Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes; The Merlin Trilogy (Crystal Cave, The
Hollow Hills
, The Last Enchantment) by Mary Stewart; The Lord of the Rings triology
(as well as
The Hobbit) by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Man Who Was Magic by Paul Gallico;
the Outlander novels by Diana Gabaldon;
A Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin; and a
beautifully illustrated children's book entitled
Free Fall by David Wiesner.

Movies: Witness; Glory; Braveheart; Lord of the Rings; Fried Green Tomatoes; The
Point; When A  Man Loves A Woman.

Pastimes: Spending time with my now-grown kids and hubby, reading a good
book, sitting by the creek, listening to music. And writing, of course.

Hobbies: Painting, reading, gardening (give me a house plant, and it will be
meeting its demise, but outdoor plants have taken a liking to my care).  Also
photography and creating new and exciting scents for use in candles and soaps.

Animals: Mine, of course. Although I am fond of most dogs, a good many cats, and
believe that horses are incredibly beautiful creatures, as well as snakes (yes,
snakes), hawks, eagles, falcons, owls. And a lovely little bird called the indigo
bunting.  I have a fascination with the possibility of dragons, as well.

Actors: Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Allison Janney, Glenn Close, Martin
Sheen, the cast of  American Dreams...

Music: Classical -- Beethoven (especially the Sixth and Ninth symphonies),
Handel, Mozart, Grieg, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Debussy; anything by Sarah
McLachlan, Loreena McKennitt, Simon and Garfunkel, Collective Soul, early
Genesis, and a local folk singing duo -- Jennie Avila and Amy Torchia.

Time of Year: Christmas, snowfalls, the changing of summer to autumn, and the
first bloom of spring.

Period in History: Well, the colonial period in American history, naturally. Also, a
great many episodes in the history of Britain from the Dark Ages to the Norman
Conquest, as well as Irish history.
